What A Year It Has Been For Weddings!

What a year it has been for weddings.....those are the words I seem to sputter out when I reflect back on 2011.
Party Planners Plus has had some great brides and grooms this year and really for the most part enjoyed helping in the planning of their events. I will miss them all again, as I do in years past, because of the friendships we build with our clients is priceless.

A Trend in the Wedding Business.........Brides are more humble, not all, but most that I have worked with were so thankful for any and everything they had at their wedding. Let's face it, the economy still isn't the greatest....most are still pulling money paycheck to paycheck to make sure the vendors get paid and that their vision of the perfect wedding that reflects their style is being carried out to the fullest....all of this while staying in budget....not so easy for them or for me.

Party Planners Plus has had a tremendous year full of tears, laughter and heartbreak in 2011 from brides and grooms along with some of their parents. They have all been wonderful and I just wanted to take this time in the Blog at Party Planners Plus to yell out a big Thank You to all of them.

May everyone have the Happiest of Holidays and a Very Happy New Year in 2012!

Party Planners Plus is now doing Candy Buffets

Brides spend so much time choosing a favor that all their guest will enjoy, but still when guest depart and clean up begins so many of the favors you spent so much money on are still sitting on the tables.
We have noticed that Candy Buffets at the end of the reception are empty and Guest are very happy taking home a bag or box full of Candy they picked out themselves. We at Party Planners Plus decided we are here to help brides stay in the all time dreaded budget, so why not help with a favor that saves them time, money and stress......now our Candy Buffet is born.
Contact us to set up your free consultation to join us to create something guest will enjoy during and after the party is over! http:www.partyplannersplus.vpweb.com

Picking out candy that you and your guest will enjoy is half the fun, eating it is the best part.
Pricing will depend on your choice of candy, cookies, donuts, chips....the sky is the limit on what we fill the jars with.

Decor and theme will be included in the price of your package.

 Choose your container...bags, boxes, tins.

Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Set-up and Tear down is included.

Booking Your Officiant On Time...

Booking your Officiant should never be the last thing on your to-do list.

So you have said I Do, looked at Venues to decide which one best fits what you want your wedding to be. Chose your colors and theme, tasted bunches of yummy food and designed your cake. Dress is ready and the time it took to pick out the flowers and the shoes.....Do you really want to try to book an Officiant with only a month left before your Wedding????

I know...I know it is the last thing on your mind, but really...that my wonderful brides to be should be one of the first things on your mind. Think of it this way, you really would never hire a Wedding Planner or DOC without sitting and meeting with them to make sure that you all feel comfortable with working together. You wouldn't call a cake designer and tell them just make me this cake, no you would want to sit with them and talk about what cake flavors you love and taste the samples right???
Then why do so many Brides wait to chose the one person that is going to be there to make it happen for you, the one person that will guide you through your words to each other and above all...sign your marriage license. Understanding that this person, your Officiant will be there to help create a ceremony that is truly yours, but it takes time and only giving a short time-frame means chances are you are going to get a copy of a ceremony that so many couples have used before. Nothing really wrong with it if you want just a quick
I-DO. Planning your ceremony should be part of the excitement of getting married. Having words and emotions in your ceremony that is truly both of you will make your Wedding Day so much more meaningful.

So here is my suggestion.....Book your Officiant as soon as you know you will need one. I get calls and emails all the time wanting me to Officiate on one of the biggest days of their lives......in two weeks. Hair and Make-up get alot more notice than that.

I hope this helps in remembering to add the Officiant to the beginning of your TO-DO-LIST, you will be so happy you did.

Take care,
Nora

I love "Say Yes To The Dress"

Jim Hjelm Strapless Princess/Ball Gown Wedding Dress with Asymmetric in Silk Faced Satin. Bridal Gown Style Number:31954100
Kleinfelds

Randy Fenoli

I love, love, love this show!
"Say Yes To The Dress is the kind of show that you can watch and feel like you are actually shopping right along with them. Brides travel from all around the country to be able to buy that perfect dress and they want to buy it from Kleinfelds. They have practically every designer gown ever made.

Who doesn't love Randy! He is so honest with the Brides that are on the show and he truly allows you to get to know him. He has such an eye for fashion and you can tell in the way he dresses...and he is so adorable.

I DVR the show so when I have down time it is a treat for me to go shopping right along with all the brides. As a Wedding Planner I urge you to watch and learn what some of the best questions to ask at the Bridal Store you chose to shop at. Your Bridal Consultant is there to help you every step of the way to make sure you are happy with the gown you choose. You need to be comfortable with the consultant so it allows he or she the to help you. Follow this link for some Q&A: http://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/index.cfm?pid=Say-Yes-To-The-Dress&pg=Kleinfeld-Team-QA
Asking the right questions...this should help.

Visit Kleinfelds website for more information and browse the dresses when you have the time, they have so many it could take days to really take a look at all the many different styles and designers.
